Does pain = financial gain?

Or more importantly, does no pain = financial shortcomings. In the aftermath of my initial root canal surgery yesterday I would have definately said that these things were true…

Then I got to thinking about the number of pain killers I’ve taken since my tooth started to hurt 9 months ago.

30 Nurofen Plus cost around 6 quid, of which at one point I was happily, against orders, taking 10 a day. So that was 6 quid every 3 days… So, extrapolating that over 9 months I could have taken at least 2000 pills… which is 66 packs (sounds about right…), which is about 400 quid.

So, the fact that my tooth is going to cost me 650 quid to fix is almost worth it - in another 12 months I’d have spent that on painkillers.

    Well, if you want to pay a 300-500% premium on ibuprofen so they come in a shiny non-recyclable foiled box and the pills are coated in sugar, what, dear man, do you expect?
